FOODS. FRIENDS. FAMILY.

Mama La's Story

Mama La’s Kitchen began with our family arriving in Houston as refugees in the early 1980s. With little more than our knowledge of food, 15 of us shared a two-bedroom apartment and worked overnight shifts to save enough to open a small restaurant in 1982.

That restaurant became Kim Son—a foundation built on hard work, family, and a deep respect for our craft.

What started in a single kitchen has grown into something larger.

Today, we operate a USDA-inspected, SQF-certified facility in Houston, Texas, producing Vietnamese broths, sauces, meals, and appetizers for retail and foodservice partners across the country.

We maintain control from raw ingredients to finished goods, ensuring consistency, quality, and authenticity at scale.

We believe scaling food should not mean diluting it. Everything we produce is grounded in the same principles that built our first kitchen—care, consistency, and respect for the craft.
